EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
To sit for the Exam: 120 credit hours, a bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, including 24 semester hours in accounting and 24 in business-related courses. For licensure: 150 semester hours with the same coursework minimums. As of a law signed August 28, 2026 (SB 1233), Missouri is adding an additional pathway: a bachelor's degree with required accounting coursework, two years of experience, and passing the Exam.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of one year of full-time accounting experience (at least 2,000 hours), covering accounting, attest, review, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax, or consulting skills — in industry, government, academia, or public practice.

CAN YOU SIT FOR THE EXAM BEFORE FINISHING ALL EDUCATION?
